Parabolic Evolution Equations, Harmonic Analysis and Spectral Theory


The qualitative behavior of evolution equations describes the dynamical behavior of systems in science and technology. This conference focuses on parabolic problems, which arise in the context of reaction diffusion systems, heat transfer, or fluid dynamics. Of great interest are regularity properties, the long time behavior, and the influence of randomness. Many of the promising advances in this field grew out of a powerful combination of methods from harmonic analysis and spectral theory with tools from evolution equations and partial differential equations.

In this meeting we want to bring together experts from these fields with different backgrounds to stimulate the transfer of ideas, results, and techniques. It is dedicated to the mathematical work of Wolfgang Arendt and Lutz Weis.
